Tariff Information

Since 01.04.2008 the Munich CityTourCard is available in six variations. You can choose between inner area and total area, a validity of one or three days as well as between single and partner cards. The single card is valid for one person. The partner card is suitable for up to five adults who can benefit from numerous CityTourCard offers. Please note every adult can be substituted with two children under 16. 

The inner area version applies to the MVV tariff area "Innenraum", meaning with this CityTourCard version you can use public transport in the entire city of Munich. The total area version applies to the total MVV network, "Gesamtnetz". This version is appropriate for people coming to Munich from the surroundings, especially for Munich visitors coming from the Munich Airport. Further information about the tariff areas is available on the MVV website.

The CityTourCard is available for two periods of validity: For 1 day and for 3 days. The CityTourCard for one day is valid from the moment of validation until 6.00 am on the following day. The CityTourCard for three days is valid for three consecutive days from the moment of validation until 6.00 am on the fourth day. The CityTourCard is validated for public transport and for the discount offers only with a stamp by a ticket-cancelling machine.

There is no additional reduced children's version of the CityTourCard available, since the CityTourCard already includes many benefits. If you are travelling with children we warmly recommend one of our CityTourCard Partner cards.

Please note that the CityTourCard valid for 1 day and for the total area is no longer available since 01.04.2008. Already sold cards will remain valid for another three months. Afterwards they must be swaped for a valid ticket over the counter by either MVG or suburban railway (S-Bahn).
