Knut - probably the best known polar bear in the world.

In the Zoo Berlin, one of the species-rich of the world, about 14,000 animals expect her visitors in nearly 1,400 kinds. The green oasis in the heart of Berlin is stamped by exotic animal houses, splendid avenues and attractively formed green areas. The Zoo Berlin is an attractive popular place for all generations. Quiet places in the midst of the picturesquely nice park scenery invite for staying. Animal feedings to be seen, the most modern arrangements, like the penguin and hippopotamus house with underwater look, as well as the new formed night animal house provide for enthusiasm very closely.

The oldest Zoo of Germany offers an unforgettable day with amusing impressions to his guests. Here the visitors are able to marvel at animal species as the big panda and the sharp mouth rhinoceroses or to meet Knut, probably the most famous polar bear of the world.

The small visitors can let off steam on the big adventure playground by the researcher's ship "walrus". On holiday there are tours for children and the Zoo school offers all year round guidances and close to nature lessons. Besides, children can celebrate her birthday in the Zoo or stroke her favourite animal.  

The Zoo-Aquarium is located next to the Zoo and offers a unique variety of fishes, reptiles, amphibians and insects. During the winter months the Zoo aquarium offers the popular child night guidances – flashlights appreciated!
